Assalamou Alaikom Dear Brothers and Sisters, We pray that this e-mail finds you and your family in the best state of iman and health. IN SUMMARY
~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~ About a month ago, we apprised the larger Muslim community of some of the struggles that Masjid Khadeejah has been facing in finding a rental facility. We also mentioned that we would be working on a plan to secure a permanent location to build a more solid ground from which we can expand and grow, insha’Allah. The time has come. The board, al hamdou-lilah, has already started its quest to identify such a location in a two-phased approach: Phase 1: Buy a land conveniently located in the south Denver area. The prices for lands are historically low and will not remain such forever, hence the need for the board and the community to act quickly and diligently. We currently have $70,000 in the bank and we would like to raise, with Allah’s blessing, $140,000 during the month of Ramadan. We, all of us, have an amazing opportunity to continue to support and grow a nascent effort that has survived and thrived. Our struggle is known. Our commitment is unwavering. Our trust in the community and its generosity is firm. When Allah, the most Bountiful, makes a promise, He surely does not break His promise: whatever you give or spend in the way of Allah will be returned to you in manifold increase.”Lend unto God a goodly loan. Whatever good you shall forward on your behalf you shall find it with God, as better and richer in reward.” [al-Muzzammil 73: 20.] We understand the commitments that our community has to the different efforts in the way of Allah. We pray that you can support our effort in a number of ways:
Together, we can reach our goal, insh'Allah. So, will you be the first to donate? Please keep us in your du'a so Allah guides us to do the best for His deen and this community. If you'd like more information or if you feel you can help in any way, please contact us at our website or our Facebook page; or reply to this e-mail. |

~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~.~
Earlier in the year, we identified a rental location in south Denver to serve our community’s needs and growth projections for the next 3-5 years. After 5 months of arduous negotiations with the property owner and close coordination with the city of Centennial, the rental property owner refused to sign the lease. As the blessed month of Ramadan approaches and to continue our tradition and strong commitment of serving the South Denver Muslim community during Ramadan, we have reserved the Sheraton DTC to hold Isha & Taraweeh prayers, in addition to the Jumu’a (Friday) prayers.
We will start Ramadan and celebrate Eid in full harmony with the larger Colorado Muslim Community, insha’Allah. We will post information about the beginning of Ramadan on the 29th of Shaban (Wednesday, July 18th, 2011), at the earliest, at our website. You can also contact Masjid Abu Bakar at 303 696 9800 or check their website to get the same information.
Brother Hasan, who has led the Taraweeh at our Masjid for the last couple of years (and at Masjid Annur prior to that), will be leading these prayers this year, insha’Allah.
Isha prayer, for the first week of Ramadan will start at 10PM. The start time for the following 3 weeks will be adjusted and announced via e-mail and on our website and social network profiles.
Shortly after Ramadan, insha’Allah, the board, with your and the rest of the community’s support will devise plans to secure a permanent location for Masjid Khadeejah to build a more solid ground from which we can expand and grow, insha’Allah.
Despite the hardships we have experienced and the inconvenience of holding prayers at hotels, our Friday prayer attendees have continued to rise, which speaks volumes to the support of our community and the quality of services we offer.
With Allah’s grace and tawfeeq, your du’a and your solidarity, our mission and resolve of serving the South Denver and the larger Muslim community is unwavering. So, please keep us in your du’a so Allah guides us to do the best for his deen and this community.
If you’d like more information or if you feel you can help in any way, please contact us at our website or our Facebook page; or reply to this e-mail.

As we feel Masjid Khadeejah, though a nascent organization, is an important component of the Colorado Muslim fabric, we wanted to apprise you of few important updates on the state of our organization.
1) Back in January, we announced our relocation to another rental facilitiy as it was more affordable. Although the building we occupied was not ideal, it continued to serve the south Denver Muslim community and with the blessing of Allah, we were able grow and add an Arabic program for beginners from which 7 students have graduated.
At the end of September, we were notified by the City of Centennial that our use of that facilitiy for a religious congregation has been in violation of the zoning for the building. As a result, we were given a 30-day notice by the property owner, and therefore we had to leave the facility by Saturday October 29, 2011.
A rental facility is never ideal and we always run the risk of circumstances arising that could force us to relocate.
We are still determined in seeking a permanent location for Masjid Khadeejah provided we have the proper funding.
As of now, we have not found an alternative location. We are working, however, with very diligent realtors and with the city of Centennial to find a more suitable location that will be in line with the city’s requirements.
2) The core of our organization is the community. Al hamdou lilah, our community is strong and growing thanks to the diversified (and successful) programs offered at Masjid Khadeejah.
To keep the momentum going, we will offer these temporary locations for the next few weeks until another rental facility is secured:
Friday prayers are being held at the Holiday Inn, at the regular time of 12:30pm. Please check back with us for the latest updates.
The Sunday School, starting Sunday 10/30, will be offered at The Crescent View Academy (CVA).
How can you help? First, keep us in your du’a so Allah guide us to do the best for his deen and this community. Second, you can always choose to support us with one-time or recurring payments at
our website.

Community Update
Posted on Jan 18 , 2011 in Blog
Today, we’d like to apprise you of two developments: 1) The search for a permanent location and 2) Arabic Classes at Masjid Khadeejah
1) Search for a permanent location: as you know, we started over a year ago with the Park Meadows location. The objective was to establish a community center for Muslims in South Denver. Al hamdou lilah, it has been a resounding success with over 100 attending Taraweeh prayers in Ramadan and over 70 men, women, and children attending Friday prayers regularly.
Given the terms of the rental agreement, we had to find a more affordable location, yet remain in the vicinity of the old location to better server Muslims in the area. With Allah’s grace we found a location west of I-25, between Arapahoe and Dry Creek (Directions).
The change of location and the fact that rental agreements, by nature, are temporary, has made the board more predisposed to secure a permanent location for Masjid Khadeejah.
Few brothers from the board have been actively looking and few promising locations have been identified. We are, inshalla, evaluating our options, and we will keep the community apprised of any new developments.
2) Arabic Classes: community members have expressed great interest in learning Arabic. Al hamdou lilah, we have few members who have taught Arabic at an academic level and we are thrilled to offer such a service. However, in order to serve you best, we need to gauge your interest.
If you, or a member of your family, is interested in attending Arabic classes, kindly fill out this survey.
To learn more about Masjid Khadeejah, please check out our website. And you can always contact us through this e-mail.
And lastly, please keep us in your du’a!
Not very Demanding: In search of a Imam!
Posted on Jul 18 , 2010 in Blog
Assalamou Alaikom!
We have been looking for a part-time or full-time [cool] Imam for Masjid Khadija. In short, the Imam should have the following (or striving towards…we’re not that demanding!):
1) A degree in Islamic Studies that’s reflected in your behavior. Translation: not just repeat what others say. Be a thought-leader, engaging, and mind-provoking; can relate the knowledge you acquired to the people, each at their own level of understanding.
2) Demonstrated knowledge in Islamic sciences (Quran, Hadith, Fiqh …). Translation: we don’t need you to be a super-dooper scholar! Have knowledge and command of the core of our deen; not afraid to say “I don’t know”; educate us and make us want to know more!
3) Excellent communication skills and strong command of English and Arabic. As in, we live in America, not some other country 🙂 You’ll be an important facet of our masjid and community, and we need you to be articulate and communicate well, especially with non-Muslims. We are not here just for immigrants; we are here for the future of our community as well: the youth. You need to know to speak their language and relate to them. If they say “he’s cool”, you are definitely in!
4) Ability to recite Quran.
4) Strong desire and commitment to build a community up and see it grow and prosper. This is your opportunity to have a lasting hand-print and huge reward (Insh’Allah)!
5) Ability to interact and engage Muslims from different demographics and ages (especiall youth). In short, a “people” person. Outgoing and social and welcoming…and no anger please! We need a pleasant personality!
Duties and Responsibilities (the typical job description…sorry)
1) Lead the daily prayers and create an atmosphere that would encourage more to attend.
2) Deliver Friday Khutbah.
3) Give lectures and informat lessons.
4) Be able to create programs and organize events that would cater to the community’s needs (Education, Dawah, Youth etc.).
5) Additional responsbilities as agreed upon; Yes it’s intentionally-vague. Are you up for the challenge? 🙂 .
We are happy to announce that Masjid Khadija will be hosting daily Tarweeh prayers! We are also planning, Insh’Allah, on hosting iftar on the weekends. Shoot us an e-mail if you’d like to sponsor a night 🙂
Please keep checking our website for more details. Peace!
Brother Ibrahim Abusway from Kinda USA will give the Friday khutbah on May 7th. He will be asking our community to show support to his organization and their effort in Gaza and the West Bank.
Here’s brother Ibrahim’s message:
